Giant bowl of fossilized pine wood tree (53kg) mounted on rolls in order to make it turn with only one hand, to appreciate all its sides. This fossilized trunk is the best quality (red reflects) of petrified wood you can find in Madagascar. This bowl has been carved out of a trunk fallen in a swamp 200 Milions years ago. Oxides dissolved in the water (Iron oxides for the red color) penetrated into the trunk, before it starts to petrify, year after year. |
